Kathikas Village - Paphos, Cyprus
The traditional village o f Kathikas is located in the Paphos district – just 23 km north of Paphos town center and at an altitude of about 700 meters.
Kathikas is a picturesque village where has been inhabited since ancient years and now is offered for agro tourism due to the quiet environment and the excellent climate which it has.
The name of the village is said to either originate from its original owner, or from the verb ‘to sit’ - ‘kathizo’ in Greek - due to the perception that the village sits on a level location when looked at from a distance.
The village retains a charming square where combined with the traditional architecture – stone built church and houses.
The location of the village is ideal as it is located at half of distance between Paphos ans Polis Chrysochous, while it is also very close to Coral Bay in Peyia.
Kathikas is also well known for its vineyards and its wines, with two regional wineries.
