Moving to Cyprus? Where Should You Choose?

Moving to Cyprus? Where Should You Choose?

If you’re a British ex-pat hoping to move to Cyprus in the near future, that’s fantastic news. Not only will you be spending your time in one of the oldest, most traditional parts of the Greek world – you’ll be opening yourself up to enjoying an incredible lifestyle that’s the envy of many.

Although this island is relatively small and is home to just over a million people; the reality is that depending on where you choose to buy a house in Cyprus, you’ll quickly notice the differences between regions.

Paphos

Considered one of the most historic parts of the island, Paphos (or Pafos) boasts some of the most captivating scenery imaginable. It’s simply ancient; in the sense that some of the villages pre-date medieval times. But there is also a wide selection of modern activities, events and facilities to enjoy – from golf courses and shopping centres, right through to annual celebrations and festivities. In addition,  if you are looking to live away from stress, then Paphos is an ideal place.

Limassol

An up and coming region with an equal mix of culture, tradition and modern features – Limassol is quickly becoming one of the most popular destinations for people from all walks of life. It boasts a variety of lifestyle options for its residents, including nightlife for those looking for excitement, as well as peace and tranquillity the more in-land you go.

Larnaka

If you like the idea of being close to schools, shops and modern amenities, then Larnaka could well be the perfect place for you. The further outside of the city you go, the quieter life can be – but with access to all main roads and highways, you’ll be able to travel without difficulty and still enjoy an appealing way of life.

Nicosia

Widely regarded as the business hub of Cyprus, Nicosia (or Lefkosia) is becoming increasingly appealing for career professionals that want to relocate from the UK to Cyprus, whilst being able to work full-time. In the centre of the city is a range of professional outlets and locations, as well as schools and everything in between. But that’s not to say that you couldn’t enjoy a quieter way of life, especially if you don’t mind travelling a little outside of the city-centre.

Famagusta

Famous locations such as Paralimni and Ayia Napa are just two small parts of what makes this historic region so popular. With beaches, stunning sights and plenty to see and do – you’ll feel spoilt for choice.
